Our Story

A family venue, a New Orleans home.

Venue Vapaille is created by the family of Creole jazz legend Don Vappie. His children, Sean and Monique, are spearheading every part of it, building a place where their father's music lives on, and where anyone can feel true New Orleans culture and a real family welcome.

Built by the Vappies

For Don, by his children.

Don Vappie is a Creole jazz musician and a master of the banjo. Venue Vapaille is his family's gift to him, and to the city that raised the sound.

His children, Sean and Monique, lead the venue and every aspect of it: the private events, the live music, the cultural programs, the welcome at the door. Don plays here regularly, so on any given night you might catch the master himself, a few feet away.

The idea is simple, and it is the whole point: a classy room where New Orleans culture is lived, not performed, and where every guest is treated like family.

What We Believe

The house values.

01

Culture, lived

Real New Orleans music and Creole heritage, kept alive by the people who carry it, not staged for show.

02

Family, always

A room run by a family, where guests, artists, and neighbors are all treated like one.

03

Music, first

The stage came before everything else. Whatever the occasion, the sound is the soul of the night.
